Tulip for Jamf Pro - Overview

Tulip's Jamf Pro adapter allows you to:

  • Fetch and deploy common Jamf Pro configuration data, such as Scripts, Policies, and Configuration Profiles

  • Deploy major configuration changes from a Jamf Pro sandbox to your production application connection

  • Compare Jamf Pro application connections

  • Add Scripts and other configuration elements to a version control system such as GitHub, BitBucket, or others from the application connection's settings page under the "Version control" tab

  • Monitor specific changes of interest, e.g., policy changes, using Tulip's security-focused change tracking and compliance features

Connect your Jamf Pro Instance

Tulip supports authenticating with Jamf using a client secret and clientId:

  1. Create a new client secret and clientId, and make sure to give admin site permissions by allowing the following privileges:

    • Buildings - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Categories - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Classes - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Departments - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Packages - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Policies - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Scripts - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • Sites - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • macOS Configuration Profiles - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • iOS Device Configuration Profiles - Read, Create, Update, and Delete privileges

    • API Roles - Only if managing them. Could be read-only.

  2. To add Jamf Pro to Tulip, go to the Applications view and click the "Connect new application" button in the top right. Enter an app connection name (e.g. Jamf Pro Production), click next, then choose "Jamf Pro" as the application.

  3. You will be asked to provide the base URL (e.g. https://your-domain.jamfcloud.com), the clientId, and client secret you created.
