In Tulip, application connections represent individual tenants of your enterprise security applications. Each connection serves as a dedicated bridge between Tulip and a specific tenant.
By setting up an application connection, you enable Tulip to manually or periodically fetch configuration and metadata from the linked system. This empowers you to:
Detect and surface security issues in the configuration
Manage and document configuration changes
Perform impact analysis across your environment
Set up notifications for changes
Align configurations across two different app connections
Connecting an application
In order to connect an application, click the "Connect new application" in the Applications view
Add your desired app connection name. Pick a meaningful name, e.g. "Okta Production" or "Jamf Staging".
Choose the type of application you would like to add.
By default, applicaiton connection credentials can't be used by other users for deployments. Users who will want to deploy will have to enter their own set of credentials. You can change this by selecting "Allow fetch and deployment".
Enter your credentials for accessing the application. Whenever available, we allow you to connect your application via OAuth π
Credentials are never exposed in plain text to any user
Connect the applicaiton and fetch
